Year 9 Section
2010-2011
Hello to all pupils in Year 9!
Having said “goodbye” to Year 11, I have found myself in a state of limbo, for several weeks, and I have not really felt that I belonged with anyone!
However, after meeting you all in Lower School and during the Transition Day, I am really looking forward to welcoming you to your permanent Upper School “home” in September.
Although there are many unfamiliar faces amongst you, many of you have already made me feel very welcome, and I thank you for that. I promise that I will get to know each and every one of you very quickly.
It’s often a difficult move from Lower School to Upper School, as you’re moving from being senior pupils on one site to junior pupils on another. But, there are exciting times ahead ……………
You will, for the first time, be able to have an input into your future learning path, as you consider your option choices for GCSE; You’ll have the opportunity to take part in the D of E scheme; you’ll have the chance to take part in many curricular activities ………… the challenges are endless!
As I said, on Transition Day, you have “a clean page” ahead of you. It’s a new start, a time to put last year behind you, and move on positively. It’s impossible to change the past, but it’s very possible to shape your future into anything you want it to be.
Finally, it’s about doing the best for yourselves. You get out of life only as much as you put in. So Year 9, let’s work together to make our year group as good as we can!
